Keeping Individuals Safe While Supporting Their Desire for Relationships:
Individuals with disabilities are more than two times more likely to become a victim of a sexual crime. Furthermore, individuals with disabilities are unfortunately ending up more and more in the criminal justice system due to behaviors they are engaging in without realizing the life-changing consequences. Therefore, this presentation will go over sexual crises that are occurring, including actual examples, ways to encourage safer practices in using social media, and user-friendly methods of education to keep people with disabilities from being victimized and out of the criminal justice system.
